Well after much deliberation, I am so excited and nervous to be running the London Marathon TCS 2023 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK: supporting ground breaking research and working towards a world free from the heartbreak it can cause.
I have sadly seen at first hand the devastating effect dementia can have on loved ones. Both my Aunties are fighting Alzheimer’s and seeing the effect it has on their day-to-day cognition is devastating. I also empathise with the impact this has on loved ones, as its always family and friends who make sacrifices to provide care and emotional support.
It’s such a common condition, I believe that we all need to do more of what we can to help people who have dementia and supporting loved ones in our family circles. We all know Alzheimer’s Research UK needs our support to raise crucial funds for scientific research and learn more about dementia to help end the heartbreak dementia causes to families like mine.
